The Bachelor Holly Kingston and Jimmy Nicholson favourite…

The Bachelor stars Holly Kingston and Jimmy Nicholson have shared their favourite hotels and homestays across Australia, including a vineyard with two converted mills on it to call home and a glamping tent next to whale sharks.

The pair from Sydney, who featured on season nine of the hit show and just celebrated their one year anniversary, have been touring the country every chance they get in between Covid lockdowns.

‘In the cooler months, we love to head to a wine region. There is nothing better than cuddling up in front of a cosy fireplace and drinking a nice bottle of wine,’ Holly said.

‘In summer we love to head anywhere along the coast or check out some accommodation located in areas that we have never explored.

‘On a recent trip to the Pullman Quay Grand we discovered an amazing restaurant called Tayim nestled in the historic Rocks.

‘Despite us both growing up in Sydney CBD, we’d never come across this restaurant. There is something very satisfying about discovering a new little gem in your backyard… trying new things on a holiday is a must… whether it’s a new food or bungee jumping.’

In South Australia Jimmy and Holly can’t go past the incredible Old Chaff Mill Organic Vineyard Retreat in McLaren Vale.

Describing their experience there as ‘flawless’ the pair enjoyed the serene atmosphere of the wine region, which reminded them of Italy.

‘We loved our morning coffee and locally grown and produced avo and eggs on toast amongst the vines. We even made a few friends (the chooks). There is a reason this place has an exceptional 9.9 Booking.com rating.’

Next on their list is the spectacular Cossowary Falls in the Daintree rainforest, where they stayed in a luxury cabin.

‘It’s a family owned and run slice of paradise with exclusive access to the beautiful Cassowary Falls,’ she said.

‘From swimming with the resident turtles to an incredible homemade breaky delivered fresh to your room, this place has it all.’

In the same state Holly and Jimmy stopped by at The Peninsula in Port Douglas, which they rated highly for its ‘friendly staff and excellent location’.

‘Just a minute walk from the beach, the boutique hotel has magnificent ocean views, with balconies or terraces – perfect for a home away from home,’ Holly said.

To mix things up the couple tried ZaGames Lygon Street in Melbourne’s CBD to get their coffee and bar hopping fix.

'We stayed here in November and absolutely loved it. It's a quirky boutique hotel footsteps away from the popular bars and restaurants of Lygon street (Melbourne's little Italy),' she said

‘The rooms feature an eclectic mix of wines and scotches and quirky in room amenities. We loved the breakfast menu which includes breakfast ramen, served at the in-house restaurant Lord Lygon.’

Holly and Jimmy may have travelled together but according to Booking.com the average Australian (55%) wants to meet new people – or a new partner – on their next trip.

Next on the couple's bucket list itinerary is Sal Salis on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia

A whopping 66 per cent of Aussies are looking forward to socialising while away on holidays and 41 per cent are hopeful that a romance will eventuate.

‘Ningaloo is one of the best places in the world to swim with whale sharks. Jimmy’s sister and her husband honeymooned in Ningaloo and raved about its natural beauty and tranquillity. Safe to say it’s one we have our eyes on!’
