A north Norfolk glamping site on the edge of the Broads could become a new wedding venue and celebration space.
Moat Island Glamping, in Haveringland, has applied to Broadland District Council for permission to convert part of its 2.3 hectare camping site into a multipurpose venue.
The proposal would see new timber cabins built as well as canvas-style tipis, bell tents and safari tents for up to 20 weddings or celebrations per year.
A spokesman for the leisure site said: “Hosting weddings and events at Moat Island seems like the natural progression for the business.

“Other uses would include birthdays, arts and craft fairs, Christmas markets, corporate events, wakes and workshops.”
Applicants also proposed for food and drink to be provided by local mobile caterers, with an aim to provide the service themselves in the future.
They added: “Moat Island Glamping has been a great success with lots of repeat customers and great reviews since its opening in 2017.
“We have had so many enquiries for weddings and several people have become engaged while on holiday here.”
Planning managers have said they would have “no objection” to the change of site so long as an increase in traffic through the area can be properly managed.
