Alex and Lucy Brewis have helped to run her parents holiday homes in Hawstead, near Bury St Edmunds.

The couple have had a plot of land, in Church Road, that has remain unused in the family for a number of years, and after much deliberation, decided to set up Four Bells Glamping site.

Alex said: “We had this land which was in the family for a number of years.

“It’s really nice scenic spot – you get fabulous sunsets. We had been thinking for a while it would be great to do something because it is a nice and quiet serene spot.”

Planning for the three-acre site started 18 months ago, at the same time they were expecting their second child.

Three large bell tents are situated on the site, which each have their own private bathroom.

Each tent comes with their own unique features, with the largest possessing its own hot tub.

“We found that bell tents really suited the aesthetic of the space,” Alex continued.

“It is also something that we think has been a little bit under-utilised in the industry. Lots of people go for pods and things like that.

“You get a good amount of floor space (in the tents) which has meant we have been able to fit in plenty of creature comforts. Every tent gets a min-fridge, wood-burning stove, a smart TV and a king size bed.”

The luxury spot opened on July 21, and has already been well-received by guests and people in the village according to Alex.

It is open seven-days-a-week, with guests able to check in on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
