    · You are going to do a bunch of driving no matter where you stay on Moorea so the location was pretty good, considering. The double bed I had was super comfortable (one of those memory foam mattresses, I believe) and it was ensconced in the cutest mosquito net I’ve ever seen – a fine blue mesh tent fringed with a touch of white lace. Very adorable and very necessary since you will not see, hear, or even feel the mosquitos biting you until it is too late! Contributing to this scenario is the fact that the window in the room has no screen on it so the alternative is to keep the window closed and the room was quite warm, even with the window open. There was a heavy cloth curtain for privacy (the window is opposite the two outdoor shower facilities) and to keep the sun out (this room gets some direct sunlight in the morning). There is a standing fan in the room which is very much needed but I am content with fans (ceiling fans are best, though) ’cause I like the heat!
The house was spacious, open, and airy and was kept cool by the tile floor and the coverage of the trees and other foliage surrounding the house. There were two clotheslines to dry clothing; although the description of ‘property amenities’ on the website states there is laundry, the washing machine had a sign on it saying ‘Privee’ so I assumed it was not for guest use.
I also enjoyed the vegan dinner that Isabel prepared on my first night there. The cost was 1,500 XPF (less than $15 dollars USD) and was a shared meal with other guests.
My favorite amenity at Fare Om was the filtered water cooler; such a blessing as I detest buying bottled water.
I was apparently the only Anglophone guest during my stay; everyone else was French but this was good for me because I had lived in a French-speaking environment before (17 years ago!

    · There is some mention of an ‘a la carte breakfast/buffet’ and fruit on the website but I was never informed of this amenity by anyone. I wished the room I stayed in had some type of clothes hangers or hooks to hang things on; maybe a chair would be nice too. There was a wooden bookshelf to put things on but that was it (other than the bed); some artwork on the walls would have added to the room’s appeal. There were two electrical outlets so you won’t have to choose between running the fan and charging your phone or laptop; make sure you bring your power converter (the wifi was very good/reliable for my use).
My only real gripe was the shower. While it was convenient to have the bathroom next to my bedroom, the shower head was old and cracked and the last time that I used the shower, the water pressure was non-existent. Anyone with long hair knows how arduous it is to wash shampoo and conditioner out when there is no water pressure! It makes taking a shower an impossibly long task and my hair got snagged on the showerhead because I had to put it so close to my hair to rinse it out. I also think putting a more absorbent bath rug in front of the shower or leaving a mop to clean up the excess water that inevitably gets on the floor would be helpful too (and safer).
These observations are just suggestions to improve the Fare Om experience!

    · Value for money was great, the family was lovely and helpful. We were rained in for the day and the common area was a nice relaxing place to just chill out. The vegan dinner that was cooked for us was great value and delicious! Bed was comfy.

    · We had a private shower, it was pretty cold, but didn’t matter much because it’s so warm there.

    · Family room is very large, comfortable and on the second floor so you have privacy and can have the kids sleep with you. It’s a nice big room with plenty of beds and a shower. The First floor has communal areas (kitchen/ living room/ garden). Breakfast and dinner were super !! Great price as well. I was so happy with the Vegetarian dinner. Other had fish and enjoyed it as well. Breakfast included coffee/ juice/ pastries/ egg/ lots of fruits/ jams/ pancakes). Staff is super nice and helpful with what to do in the area.

    · The staff were very kind and friendly. It is very simple, tucked away off the main road, and very quiet. It was good value in a nice part of the island. Bed was comfortable. Cash only or bank transfer (no CC accepted).

    · The room was clean initially was not cleaned during my stay there. The floors in the room were not swept once during my 6 night stay and a small cleaning at least once during my stay would have been appreciated.
