Huttopia develops its glamping concept in Spain – English
French glamping operator Huttopia has acquired the Village Doñarragan park in Hinojos (Huelva) and the El Berguedà campsite in Guardiola de Berguedà (Barcelona), marking the group’s entry into the Iberian Peninsula.
French-style glamping is coming to Spain. Huttopia, an operator with more than twenty years of experience in the French camping sector, has just acquired two glamping resorts in Hinojos and Guardiola de Berguedà.
The headquarters of Huttopia’s Iberian subsidiary is located in Madrid. Céline and Philippe Bossanne, founders and directors of the group, have entrusted Daniel Carrillo with the expansion of this glamping model in the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
Daniel Carillo has more than fifteen years of experience in the tourism sector, where he has held positions of responsibility in companies such as Turkish Airlines and Grupo Sagardi.
In Andalusia, Huttopia will operate the four-star Village Doñarragan Park campsite, located in the heart of the Doñana National Park. The complex has a total surface area of 7,000 m² and houses 23 bungalow-type units and 48 pitches. Once the season ends in early November, Huttopia will carry out renovation work on the asset to bring it up to its standards, so that the site should reopen next April.
The French operator will also integrate another campsite in Catalonia. Huttopia will operate Càmping Berguedà, located next to the Cadí-Moixeró nature park. The complex has 71 pitches ranging from 80 to 120 m² and six bungalows.
By 2021, Huttopia had a portfolio of ninety campsites and villages in France, the Netherlands, China, Canada and the United States. In total, the company offered 16,000 accommodation units.
