Hotel seeks permission to build 30 glamping pods

GLEDDOCH House hotel in Langbank are seeking permission to build 30 glamping pods on land currently used as training facilities.

The new structures would be built on the hotel’s par-three golf course which is located to the east of the main building.

In a statement submitted to planners, resort bosses say that the pods would help grow the business and create new jobs.

They state: “There is now strong demand for domestic holidays and there is a new market for trips which are not in hotels but are in isolated, self-contained spaces, whether that’s a lodge, shepherds hut, or Center Parcs style villa.

“The location and setting at Gleddoch is ideal for such concept.

“It will help grow the revenue of the business and further develop the business and will add jobs housekeeping, maintenance and groundskeeping.”
