AN award-winning glampsite is set to reopen soon – just in time for Easter.

The Nest, in Lincolnshire, first opened in 2019, calling itself an ‘African safari meets English countryside’.

They were even awarded the Central England Prestige Award in 2020-2021.

The resort has three lodges to choose from – Cuckoo, Pinkfoot and Teal, with the latter opening in 2021..

Each lodge sleeps six people, with each one having a master bedroom with king-size bed, as well as a king-size cabin bed and a twin room.

Also inside is a kitchen, dining area and living room, along with bathrooms that have freestanding baths.

Guests can request up to two cots, as well as a bringing dogs which cost £25.

They have amazing views too, with each one overlooking the lake, where you can go fishing, kayaking or wild swimming.

Don’t worry if the weather doesn’t play ball – there are wood-burning stoves inside, as well as wood-burning hot tubs.

You can even hire its pizza oven, book spa treatments or make the most of the film + firepit nights with outdoor screenings.

Coffee, toiletries and board games are also included in the lodge.

Bookings reopen from March 29, with a minimum of three-night stays, and remains open until the end of October.

Bookings start from £750 for four nights, sleeping six – which works out at just over £30 a night.

If you don’t fancy cooking, there are lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, some even without walking distance.

This includes The Millstone, Barnack, a new pub with a huge outdoor courtyard.

Nearby restaurants include Japanese, Italian and Indian, and the Michelin Star restaurant Hambleton Hall.

Previous guests have raved about their stay at The Nest.

One person said: “This is just the most perfect place. My words can’t do it justice.

“The Nest is a little slice of paradise.”

Another agreed: “Couldn’t have been more perfect for little ones – cold lake dips and kayaking, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, wood fired cooking for every meal.”

A third simply said: “Probably one of the best weekends of my life!”

If you fancy another glamping holiday, we’ve rounded up some others in the UK to add to your list.

The Secret Garden Glamping, Wigan

The Secret Garden Glamping was named the best in the UK by AA last year.

Inside are private hot tubs, barbeques and even a neon-themed yurt called The Glade.

If you’re lucky, you may spot some some free roaming deer.

Elmley Nature Reserve, Kent

As the UK’s only nature reserve where you can sleep over, it is perfect for wildlife lovers.

Birds, cows and sheep roam the 3,300 acres, and you can rent binoculars to see them.

You can also make the most of marshmallow toasting over the fire, with a communal kitchen on-site.

And here’s a glampsite owners top tips on how to make the perfect UK holiday.

Three camping tips from an expert

David Scotland owns camping equipment retailer Outdoor World Direct and knows all about how to make a camping trip run smoothly.

When visiting any campsite this summer it’s important to make sure you’re not making simple mistakes that could ruin your holiday.

Check your tent

David recommends putting your tent up a couple of weeks before you’re due to travel to give you enough time to repair or replace any damaged parts.

He told Sun Online Travel: “You’d be surprised how many people turn up with broken tents.”

Test the ground

Picking a good spot to pitch your tent is difficult, with lots of things to consider.

One of those should be the condition of the ground you’re putting your tent on top of, according to David.

He said: “Once you’ve found the perfect spot, test the ground with your pegs before you commit to camping there to make sure the ground is soft enough.”

Don’t nap in your tent

It may seem the perfect place for it, but a nap in a tent could end badly, if it’s done at the wrong time of the day.

David explained: “If the sun’s shining and it’s hot inside your tent – don’t do it!

“One of our friends nodded off in his tent during a heatwave at Glastonbury and ended up at the medical tent with heatstroke.”

Instead, he recommends finding some shade outside or somewhere well ventilated.
