Despite GlossyGlamping.com being predominantly about glamping, occasionally something a little different catches our attention. Now we love a good Shepherds Hut here at HQ, so you can imagine our excitement at reading about a shepherds hut in Moel Famau (which forms part the beautiful Clwydian Range in North East Wales) that is supplying visitors (and their dogs) with locally sourced refreshments, crafts and free tourist information.
The idea was the brain child of Julie Masters who realised that there was little information about heritage and conservation for the 150,000+ visitors to Moel Famau each year.
Upon discovering Shepherds huts she found the perfect, portable and most importantly in-keeping base in which to connect with visitors to the area.
The Shepherds Hut is not only used to refresh and guide weary walkers but also serves the community by promoting local business and gives young people the opportunity to learn vital skills which are essential in today’s world of work.
We think this is such an fantastic idea benefiting not only visitors to the area but the local community – if only there was a Julie Masters in every part of the country!
It’s well worth taking a look at their wonderful website:
